In order to insure that you have The Perfect Fit with all our hats, place a tape measure or string around the head, just above the eyebrows and parallel to the floor. This measurement should be to the nearest 1/8 inch. Use the chart here as a guide. No matter how good someone else looks in a particular style, the best styles for you will be dictated by the shape of your face. To help you choose which style may best flatter your face, refer to the guidelines below:

A rounded hairline, full cheeks and round jaw combine to make the round face. Some may be as wide as they are long. A wide brim will slim the face, the crown should be wider than the face. A big hat worn at an angle also works well.
This face has a narrow jaw and is wider at the eyes and forehead. Choose a hat with the crown wider than the cheekbones to properly complement the heart shape. Wear it straight across the brow. Avoid narrow brims.
A square face needs length. It has a straight hairline, with the fore head, cheekbones and jawlines the same width. A high crown will ad length to the face. To break up the angularity wear the hat at an angle.
This shape is widest at the cheekbones narrowing to both the forehead and jawline. Choose a hat that sits back on the head. Avoid wide low brims.
The oblong or narrow face is long and slender, with a high forehead and long cheeks. A wide brim hat pulled low will add width. Also, a shallow crown or a crown with flaired top, "Mad Hatter" style.

Wrap a cloth tape measure around your head where you will wear the hat. Aproximately 1" above the eyebrows and slightly above the ears on the sides. Also, make sure the tape lies over the small bump at the base of your skull. You should measure more than once to be sure.

If the nose is prominent, a hat with a large brim is best. Wear the hat forward, to draw attention to the hat. Also almost always, the crown of the hat should not be narrower than the cheekbones. Brims usually don't get wider than the shoulders. If you're shorter, choose a narrow brim. And, of course, the bigger you are the bigger the hat.
